Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What services do you offer?
We provide residential appliance repair and dryer vent cleaning services throughout Ankeny, Des Moines, and surrounding areas.
Appliance repair services include refrigerators, freezers, ovens, ranges, cooktops, microwaves, dishwashers, washers, dryers, vent hoods, and more.
We also provide professional dryer vent cleaning for residential and select commercial properties.
What appliance brands do you service?
We service most major residential appliance brands, including:
Amana, Asko, Café, Cove, Dacor, Electrolux, Frigidaire, GE, Hotpoint, JennAir, KitchenAid, LG, Maytag, Miele, Monogram, Samsung, Speed Queen, Sub-Zero, Viking, Whirlpool, Wolf, and many others.
If your brand is not listed, contact us and we’ll verify service availability.
Do you repair commercial appliances?
We only service commercial laundry equipment such as washers and dryers.
We do not service commercial refrigeration, walk-in coolers, commercial ovens, or commercial cooking equipment.
Why is dryer vent cleaning important?
Lint buildup restricts airflow, causes dryers to work harder, increases drying times, and significantly raises the risk of a house fire.
How often should dryer vents be cleaned?
Most homes should have the dryer vent professionally cleaned once per year.
Homes with heavy laundry usage or longer vent runs may require more frequent cleaning.
What are signs my dryer vent is clogged?
Common warning signs include:
-
Clothes taking longer to dry
-
Excess heat in the laundry room
-
Burning smells
-
Dryer shutting off mid-cycle
-
Excessive lint buildup
-
Poor airflow from the exterior vent
Is a clogged dryer vent a fire hazard?
Yes. Lint is highly flammable, and clogged dryer vents are one of the leading causes of preventable house fires.
Will dryer vent cleaning improve drying time?
Yes. Restoring proper airflow often reduces drying times and lowers strain on the dryer.
Do you clean roof vents and second-story dryer vents?
Yes. We clean dryer vents regardless of whether they terminate through an exterior wall or the roof.
How long does dryer vent cleaning take?
Most dryer vent cleanings take approximately 30–60 minutes depending on vent length, buildup, and accessibility.
Can I clean my dryer vent myself?
DIY kits exist, but many are low quality and can disconnect or become stuck inside the vent system.
Professional cleaning ensures the entire system is cleaned properly and safely.
How much does dryer vent cleaning cost?
Dryer vent cleaning pricing is available directly on our website.
Final pricing is confirmed at the time of booking based on vent configuration and location.
Can I get a quote before booking an appliance repair appointment?
No. Because many appliance issues share similar symptoms, accurate repair pricing requires an in-home assessment.
After diagnosis, you’ll receive a clear flat-rate repair quote before any repair work begins.
There is no obligation to proceed with the repair.
What does the assessment fee cover?
The assessment fee applies only to appliance repair appointments.
It covers the technician’s time to properly diagnose the issue and provide a professional repair recommendation and flat-rate quote.
Dryer vent cleaning does not require an assessment fee, since pricing is provided during booking.
Can I provide my own parts?
Yes, but repairs using customer-supplied parts cannot be guaranteed.
The part must be correct for your appliance model, and all sales are final.
Do you use OEM factory parts?
Yes. We use OEM factory parts whenever possible unless otherwise discussed during the repair quote process.
Are you factory certified or authorized?
Yes. We are Factory Certified for LG, GE, Speed Queen, and Midea products.
We also participate in the Whirlpool Service Matters program for Whirlpool-family brands including Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, JennAir, and Amana.
Do you work with warranty companies?
Yes. We work with select warranty companies and third-party protection plans.
Additional processing and communication fees may apply depending on the provider.
Coverage decisions are made by your warranty company.
What if my appliance is still under manufacturer warranty?
You must first contact your warranty provider to open a claim before scheduling service.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We are licensed, insured, background checked, MST-certified, and EPA-licensed.
What areas do you service?
We service Ankeny, Des Moines, and surrounding communities throughout Central Iowa.
If you are unsure whether you are inside our service area, just contact us and we’ll verify availability.
Do you service areas outside your normal service area?
Typically no. In rare cases, out-of-area service may be available with additional travel charges.
Do I need to be home during the appointment?
Yes. Someone 18 or older must be present during the entire appointment.
Pets should also be secured before arrival.
What should I do before the technician arrives?
Please:
-
Secure pets
-
Clear access to the appliance or dryer area
-
Ensure the appliance is accessible
-
For refrigerator cooling issues, leave the unit plugged in and running if safe to do so
How soon can I schedule service?
Availability varies throughout the week, but we are often able to schedule service within a few business days.
In some cases, same-day appointments may be available depending on technician routing and schedule availability.
Do you offer same-day or next-day appointments?
Sometimes. Same-day and next-day availability depends on technician routing and current scheduling availability.
For the fastest service, we recommend booking as early as possible.
How long do most appliance repairs take?
Many repairs can be completed during the first visit if common parts are available.
Some repairs require specialty OEM parts that must be ordered.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash and all major credit and debit cards.
Payment is due at the time of service.
Do you offer emergency or after-hours service?
No. After-hours service is not available.
